  • Explain electrical system components and units in conjunction with system drawings.
  • Explain the function of electrical components and the way in which they can be assembled.
  • Identify components and systems to meet required functions.
  • Evaluate the extent of work to be carried out.
  • Describe the current legistation and codes of practice relating to electrical equipment and systems.
  • Carry out a risk assessment by listing the procedures and requirement for setting up safe working conditions.
  • Analyse manufacture's information , related work records, circuit diagrams and other necessary data.
  • Identify tools and equipment .
  • Prepare works orders or requisitions.
  • Carry out inspection.
  • Conduct diagnosis and carry out repairs.
  • Comlete maintenance record.
  • Re commissions the system and adjust as required to working parameters.
  • Restore work area to a cleaan and safe conditions upon completion of maintenance.
  • Classify hazardous substance and the state the approved method of disposal.
  • Produce a report to record the actions taken during hand over.
